Crayons to Classroom

Crayons to Classroom

Dayton's Crayons to Classrooms is a nonprofit resource center that helps underfunded teachers from low-income schools in the Dayton region obtain free school supplies for their students. Supplies are provided at no cost to teachers, families, or schools. Since most teachers shopping at DC2C reach into their own pockets to provide supplies for students, getting supplies at no cost is a blessing.

Good Neighbor House

Good Neighbor House

Good Neighbor House provides everything from medical, vision, and dental services to wellness programs, clothing, food, and household items. Offering a wide range of services from a single location can make a big difference when clients have to spend hours on buses to get around town, or they are juggling multiple jobs and tenuous childcare arrangements on a given day. With Good Neighbor House’s “one-stop shopping” model, those in need are more likely to access needed services, and less likely to go without vital support.

After 120 years, Our Lady of the Rosary School decided to try something different. The school, established when the first Catholic Church was founded in Old North Dayton in 1888, had provided a strong education—and a solid grounding in the principles of faith and community—for thousands of students over the course of a dozen decades.
